The 2002-03 season continues our popular Subscription Series, Parks Concert Series, and Around Town concerts. Have a look - there's something here for everyone. Our MicroBand will continue to present mini-concerts - generally taking a subset of the band into a senior center or similar location.

The band's first outdoor concert of the season will present plenty of old favorites .. and a new favorite or two, as well! Bring the whole family, spread out a blanket, and enjoy a picnic dinner as the stars come out at this free concert.

Christmas Concert: "Ring in the Holidays!"

The return of a crowd favorite! Members of the Austin Symphonic Band join forces once again with the Austin Handbell Ensemble for this fun and light holiday concert at Reagan High School Performing Arts Center. Come ring in the season with the ASB and the AHE!

Tickets are $8 for Adults, $5 for Seniors and Students. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time through ASB band members, Austin Handbell Ensemble members, by calling the ASB band office at 345-7420, or by calling Austix at 454-TIXS (8497).

This season's first Runout Concert takes place in Marble Falls, Texas, at the Marble Falls High School Performing Arts Center.

Guest Artists Brian Bowman, Euphonium, and Claire Vangelisti, Soprano

Our final Subscription Series Concert of the 2002 - 2003 season is a tribute to John Philip Sousa. This concert is a re-creation of the concerts that Sousa used to give, traveling from town to town. It also provides an opportunity for our Music Director to dress up as J.P. Sousa (beard and all!).

Our special Guest Artists for this concert will be Brian Bowman, Euphonium, and Claire Vangelisti, Soprano, making her third appearance with ASB. 

Please note that we will be at the Connally HS Theater for this concert.

This season's second Runout Concert takes place in Georgetown, Texas, at the Georgetown High School Fine Arts Center.

ASB celebrates your Dad with this annual concert at the Zilker Hillside Theatre. Marches, patriotic melodies, and other familiar works are the order of the day - selections that will have your Dad's toe tappin' - as well as your own! Hyde Park Patriotic Service

In what has become an annual event, members of the band will participate in Hyde Park's patriotic services, held each year the Sunday before Independence Day. This year, the celebration will be held at The Quarries Recreation Area in the Millwood Area. Click here for a pdf map to The Quarries. 

The program will include barbecue sandwiches, chicken and hot dogs for the entire family ($1.00 per bag) from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Patriotic Service will follow from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. Blue Bell Ice Cream will be served, and the ASB concert will begin at 9:00 p.m. Around 9:20 p.m., ASB will play patriotic music to clap to for Hyde Park's Fireworks Spectacular. The band makes its annual appearance at this slice of Americana, along the banks of the Colorado River in Bastrop. The evening (and the season) closes with a fireworks spectacular as the band plays on!
