The Zilker Hillside Theatre is located in Zilker Park in Austin, across the street (actually the parking lot) from the Barton Springs Pool. Please note that the City of Austin often (but not always) charges $2 or $3 to park your car within the park boundaries.

From Congress, N/S 1st Street, or Lamar Blvd:

• If you're north of the river, go south and cross the river.
• Turn west (towards Mopac) onto Barton Springs Road.
• You'll cross Barton Creek (where the hike-and-bike trails are); turn left almost immediately into Zilker Park, following the signs to Barton Springs Pool. The road immediately forks to left and right; the left fork takes you to the Hillside Theatre, but more parking is often available along the right fork.
• The Hillside Theatre is located just beyond the pool, across the street. If you're lucky, you can park nearby. Otherwise, continue past the pool and find some parking as close as you can.

• Take the Riverside exit, and turn west (toward Mopac).
• After a mile or so, turn left at the second traffic light (Barton Springs Road).
• Follow the instructions above from the third step. It's a mile or so to the Barton Creek bridge. You'll cross South 1st and South Lamar before getting to Zilker.

• Take the 2244 exit, which is the first one south of the river. If you came from the north, take the u-turn under the expressway; if you came from the south, proceed straight through the intersection (e.g. do NOT turn onto 2244 in either case).
• As you go down a hill, a road crosses the service road. This is Columbus Drive. If you can, turn right on Columbus; sometimes the road is made into a one-way one heading out of the park.
• Assuming you made the right on Columbus, you will eventually encounter another road (with DO NOT ENTER signs) to your right. At this point you are pretty close to the Hillside Theatre, which is down the bluff to your right. Find a parking spot and look for one of the paths down the bluff.
• If you were NOT able to turn right, continue straight on the service road, which bends to the right and becomes Barton Springs Road. The first road that takes you to the right is the other end of Columbus Drive. Follow it into the park. The road immediately forks to left and right; the left fork takes you to the Hillside Theatre, but more parking is often available along the right fork.
• The Hillside Theatre is located just beyond the pool, across the street. If you're lucky, you can park nearby. Otherwise, continue past the pool and find some parking as close as you can.
