One of ASB's large, recurring expenses from year to year is for the space it rehearses in. The band, too large (or too loud!) to rehearse in spaces normally used by community groups, rents a band hall from local school districts for its weekly rehearsals. This expense has traditionally come from the band's general budget.

In an act of corporate generosity, the Austin division of Compaq Computer Corporation has once again funded this space for the 2000-2001 season. This generous donation will allow the band to use those funds freed up for other needed activities, such as expanding our mailing list to reach more Austin-area patrons. We deeply appreciate this donation from Compaq and look forward to continuing our relationship with them, as we continue to bring more concert band music to more people. Our special thanks go to Olga Wise and the members of Compaq "Grassroots Funding" committee who made this funding possible.
