ASB invited to perform at 20th Annual
Western International Band Conference

would mark the band's third major conference performance in a twelve-month period

The Board of Directors of the Western International Band Conference has extended an invitation for the Austin Symphonic Band to perform at this year's 20th anniversary conference. The event, held each year in Seattle, Washington, brings together hundreds of conductors from the Western US and Canada together for performances and clinics of wind band literature.

After careful consideration, ASB's Board has decided to respectfully decline WIBC's invitation. Band members have already been asked to find time off for two other conferences this season, and it was felt that a third would present undue hardship for some.

The good news is that the band has now been extended an open invitation to perform at WIBC in future years. We look forward to performing there!
