CDs of the Band's Chicago performance are now available!
ASB's Grand Finale performance at the 1997 Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic was recorded by Mark Custom Recordings, and we are now able to offer CDs of the concert, at a reduced price!
The performance, variously
described as "superb," "great playing," "outstanding," "most enjoyable," and
"the musical highlight of the conference," closed out the 51st annual Midwest
with a enjoyable mix of recently published and standard concert band works. Among
the selections:
- Johan De Meij's exciting new "Continental Overture"
- Mark Camphouse's tribute to the late John Paynter, "Whatsoever Things..."
- James Barnes' lyrical celebration of the late Barbara Buehlmann, "All Pleasant Things"
- Two works featuring guest tuba wizard Patrick Sheridan, "Czardas" and "Estrellita"
- .. and much more!
