Despite being postponed a week due to weather concerns, the annual KMFA-FM Record Sale was a great success. Thousands and thousands of records and CDs of all types were sold on Saturday, September 19th. A portion of the proceeds benefitted ASB, which performed at 10 and 11am in support of the event.

In an incredible act of generosity, KMFA has donated the assets of this event - consisting of records, CDs, tables, display cases, and more - to the Austin Symphonic Band, which starting in 1999 will be the principal host of the event. The band will continue to hold the event outside KMFA's studios in the early fall of each year, and KMFA - continuing on as Media Sponsor - will receive a portion of the proceeds. The band thanks everyone at KMFA who believes that we can continue this longstanding tradition, and especially Jeff Krys, Station Manager, and Kim King, who has been instrumental in the success of this event for so many years. We also thank the many KMFA volunteers who have helped for so many years .. and invite them to continue with us in upcoming years!
