Comment about the band's performance at the American Bandmasters Association Convention in Richardson, TX
The band's performance at the American Bandmasters Association Convention in Richardson, TX on March 1, 2006
elicited the following responses from attendees:
>From Bill Moody - ABA Secretary/Treasurer
Congratulations on a great concert for the ABA. The high quality of the concerts made this one of the best conventions ever.
"Variants On A Mediaeval Tune" is one of the finest works in the band repertory and it was good to hear it performed so well. "Vesuvius was exciting and the conductor sure knew the music well!"

Hi Dick
Just a very quick note to say how nice it was to see you, albeit so briefly, at the ABA Convention. I arrived back in sunny Sydney on Monday morning having had a really great time. You can't believe how good it is to catch up with so many friends in such a short space of time when distance makes keeping contact so difficult.
It was great to hear your band. It was my first time and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. I do hope our paths will cross again.
Cheers

Dear Richard:
Congratulations to you and the members of the Austin Symphonic Band on
their outstanding performance last week at the ABA convention in
Richardson. They are a dedicated group of musicians who obviously care
so much for you and for your commitment to music making. While I was
only able to hear the last half of the concert because of a rehearsal
with the Westlake Wind Ensemble, what I did hear was beautifully
performed.
Please extend to everyone involved our deep appreciation for their fine
performance and continued commitment to the fine tradition of this
organization.
All the best wishes for a wonderful spring and continued success with
the Symphonic Band.
Sincerely,
Ray Cramer
