Support performance arts

Recently, I attended a concert given by the Austin Symphonic Band entitled, "Tribute to a Generation: WWII Remembered."

It was marvelous. Not only was it moving and entertaining, it was polished and professional. The crowd gave several standing ovations. As I sat there listening, I realized that my favorite venue for live performance is a high school auditorium, and my favorite performers are students, friends, neighbors and community members.

I urge everyone to go to a concert, play or dance production and support the talented people of all ages who prepare for many long hours to give us these gifts.
