"Bravo! To you and all those wonderful musicians in the Austin Symphonic Band. You and your players are setting the standard for community bands. Congratulations for being one of the highlights of the NBA/TBA convention. Having Jim [Walker, flautist] and Bob [Foster, composer] you for the concert was an excellent touch as well!"

  • Gregory Clemons, Director of Bands, Texas Christian University

"Congratulations on an outstanding performance. What a fine repertoire of music. You accomplished your mission statement with your performance, "volunteer musicians who combine their talents and services to provide performances of artistic merit for the benefit of band members and audiences." In this case, instead of the City of Austin, it was for an audience of musicians, most of whom were band directors attending the convention. Thank you and the ASB for always being an integral part of a TBA convention when asked. We are all on the mission of proving what an important part of our American musical heritage band music and performance have become."
